About the Journal
The Journal of Vaccinology is a peer-reviewed, open access journal covering vaccine research, immunoprophylaxis and immunotherapeutics, from antigen discovery to population-level immunization. It provides a shared forum for immunologists, virologists, molecular biologists, epidemiologists, clinicians and biotechnology researchers.
Its scope includes vaccine design and development, from recombinant, nanoparticle, mRNA, DNA and viral-vector platforms to adjuvants and epitope mapping; innate and adaptive immune responses to vaccination and long-term immune memory; and therapeutic vaccines for cancer, autoimmune and neurodegenerative disease. Clinical and translational work is central, including phase I to IV trials, safety assessment, vaccine performance in older, immunocompromised and newborn populations, response biomarkers and post-marketing effectiveness studies.
The journal also covers emerging infections and pandemic preparedness, delivery systems and cold-chain-independent formulations, manufacturing and regulation, and public health questions such as vaccine hesitancy, access in low-resource settings, cost-effectiveness and ethics.
Original research, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and expert perspectives are considered. All articles are open access under CC BY 4.0 and receive a DOI.
